The EOC Data Portal offers access to versatile EO research results through a modern and contemporary portal that facilitates discovery, browse, visualization and download of EO-related resources.

We make EO data accessible and approachable to users from different domains. Our goal is to support the scientific discourse, present the fascinating world of Earth Observation to the broad public, and enable innovation and accelerate the transfer of research results in the public domain.

We consolidate datasets from different data and service providers of the DLR into a unified user interface with the following key features:

• Data Discovery: Search datasets by keywords, topics or spatio-temporal properties.
• Data Filtering: Filter dataset items based on dataset-specific parameters for precise data retrieval.
• Data Presentation: Browse description of datasets and datagroups containing linked resources such as publications, data and download services, DOIs, projects as well as common metadata.
• Data Visualization: Display datasets in an interactive, map-based tool to transform data into actionable insights.
• Data Access: Download datasets from online resources or utilize data services to stream datasets into your processing environment.

The portal development is coordinated by the German Remote Sensing Data center (DFD) and includes teams from different DLR institutes as well as external contractors. It's agile development process ensure that user requirements are constantly analyzed and integrated into the portal, so that features are incrementally added over time.

The portal utilizes Open Standards and supports FAIR principals (findable, accessible, interoperable, reproducible) to foster independence, interoperability and reproducible science.

Datasets are harvested from data providers such as DLR's EOC Geoservice that provide geospatial web services based on Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) specifications.
